KUALA LUMPUR (May 14): The Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) will start its public inspection (PI) of the Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Line (SSP Line) from May 15 to August 17. This is part of the Land Public Transport Act 2010 requirement.

MRT Corp CEO Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar (pictured) said he hopes the PI will yield valuable public feedback on the project.

“The main purpose of this PI is to provide a platform for the public to give feedback on the proposed alignment. The PI displays will [inform] the public about the project and serve as an avenue for [public feedback] on the proposed alignment of the SSP Line. I am hoping that Klang Valley residents, especially those living or working along the proposed alignment, will come out and have their say,” Shahril said.

MRT Corp is required to provide plans, sections and a book of reference related to the SSP Line with the Suruhanjaya Penagangkutan Awam Darat (SPAD) that will then display these materials for the purpose of obtaining public feedback.

There will be road shows at 23 locations at high traffic areas, including local councils, shopping malls, community halls and a hospital. The PI booths will feature satellite images of the planned 52.2km line and locations of the 36 stations.

Information on land acquisition plans will also be available.

Other project information such as typical station features and layout, railway transit technical data and project construction details will be displayed during the three-month period.

The proposed SSP Line is the second of the three intended MRT Lines that will complete the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (KVMRT) Project.
