JELI: Plans to widen and repave a narrow damaged road in Kampung Banggol Yek bring a sigh of relief to about 2,000 residents from three villages in Banggol Yek, Bendang Besar and Mak Jintan, near here.
The project will be implemented using an allocation provided by Jeli Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.
"The central government has provided RM96,000 to widen and repave the road," sub-district administrator Rodzi Mohamed told Bernama here on Wednesday, Mar 9.
The project would also benefit students of nearby schools including Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Gual Jedok, SK Batu Gajah and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Batu Gajah, he said.
"In addition to that, it will also help boost agricultural activities carried out by villagers," he said, adding that the project demonstrated the central government's concern and efforts towards providing infrastructure for the people. — Bernama
