KUALA LUMPUR:Sunrise Bhd executive deputy chairman Datuk Allan Lim Kim Huat was appointed managing director of Gefung Holdings Bhd after he acquired 25.19% equity stake in Gefung Holdings Bhd.

Gefung said on Sept 15 that Lim, 50, had acquired the stake, comprising of 39 million shares via an off-market deal on the same day from former managing director and major shareholder, Seo Aik Leong.

Lim is also the executive chairman of Widetech (Malaysia) Bhd.

"Through his involvement as senior management personnel with various companies in Malaysia, he has extensive exposure and experience in diverse industries such as property development, manufacturing, trading, leisure, entertainment and food services," said Gefung.

Lim is a certified public accountant by profession and is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Gefung, which has strong presence in both China and Malaysia markets over the past 12 years, said it would continue to focus on the business expansion in these markets. They are the up-market marble and granite products for commercial, residential and retail use.

Prominent customers include the Shangri-La Hotels Group, Hong-Kong based developers, Sun Hung Kai Group and WHARF Group. Some of the on-going projects include Ningpo Shangri-La, Wheelock Times Square, Shanghai and Ritz Carlton at Shanghai IFC Pudong, Singapore’s Sands Group and High End Fashion outlets
worldwide.
