KUALA LUMPUR: WCT Bhd has secured two separate projects from the Qatar and Malaysian governments collectively worth about RM1.49 billion.

The group said it has been awarded a contract from the government of Qatar to build and maintain a governmental administrative building in the country’s capital, Doha, worth 1.59 billion riyals or about RM1.36 billion, it said in a Bursa filing on Wednesday, Oct 20.

WCT expects to complete the project by April 2013.

In another filing, the group said it had accepted an award by the Malaysian Public Works Department to design, build, equip, commission and maintain Tuaran Hospital in Sabah for RM127.8 million.

The project is scheduled for completion on May 1, 2013.
