KUALA LUMPUR: Zecon Bhd posted a pre-tax profit of RM 839,000 for its second quarter (2Q) ended June 30, 2010 on the back of a revenue of RM45.4 million, the company said in a filing to Bursa on Monday, Aug 23.

For the preceding quarter, the group recorded a pre-tax profit of RM220,000 on the back of a revenue of RM31.1 million .

The company said that the quarterly increase in profit was due to construction contract works, with main revenue contributors being the Triang Water Scheme and the construction of the Unimas, Faculty of Medicine and Health Science project.

With the various numbers of jobs amounting to RM60.5 million in the pipeline, the group expects performance to improve for the remainder of the year.
