On Tuesday (June 1), it was reported that Liza Chan Sow Keng recused herself from hearing 1MDB’s lawsuit against a law firm besides another case involving SRC's legal action against Datuk Seri Najib Razak and six others.

However, it ruled that the Temiar Orang Asli can initiate the legal action themselves and not through the federal government.

Former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak also alleged that the Feb 4 bankruptcy notice issued against him was a ploy for political conspiracy, and backed by malice and the High Court judgement last July where the summary judgement entered against him was not a final judgement within the context of the Income Tax Act 1967 and Insolvency Act 1967.

Judicial Commissioner Liza Chan Sow Keng, who called the case for case management for the first time, informed lawyers for SRC that Najib is her friend.

He said the 1MDB trial is still in its infancy with the 10th prosecution witness. 

The court granted MDSA Resources the interim order yesterday pending the hearing of the company's appeal against the High Court's decision rejecting the sanction of the company's scheme of arrangement with its creditors.
