SRC Trial: Najib disappointed with judge's decision, determined to appeal

"I am very disappointed with the court's decision regarding this case because our defence team led by Tan Sri Shafee has given arguments that can lead to many doubts in this case. But [they were] not accepted by the judge.

"Nevertheless, the appeal to the Court of Appeal will be made as soon as possible and I hope that this appeal will be heard as soon as possible. Because I want to continue the effort to clear my name and I shall continue this struggle."

High Court sentences Najib to 12 years in jail, RM210m fine

Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali said the 12 years in jail and the RM210 million fine is for abuse of power, while the three CBT charges carry 10 years jail each. Meanwhile, money laundering charges carries a 10-year prison sentence each.

"The sentences are to run concurrently," he said.
