GSB expects to turn profitable in FY20

Speaking to reporters after its extraordinary general meeting (EGM) here today, GSB executive chairman Datin Toh Siew Chuon said the group's strategy is to continue to focus on residential property development. However, should there be any opportunity to go into other types of development, GSB will explore it.

Genting 3Q profitable on absence of RM1.83b impairment loss

The diversified group pointed out that the loss last year was mainly due to a RM1.83 billion impairment loss by its 49.45%-unit Genting Malaysia Bhd (GenM) in an investment in promissory notes issued by the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe to finance the tribe’s development of an integrated gaming resort in Taunton, Massachusetts, US.

YTL Hospitality REIT 1Q NPI up 11%, declares 1.96 sen dividend

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the REIT said the 12.6% increase in master leases to RM36.3 million was mainly due to the acquisition of The Green Leaf Niseko Village in September 2018 and additional rental from JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur effective July 2019, after completion of the reimbursement for renovation costs paid by the lessee.
