The Edge said a source revealed that the hotel has been sold to HYM Group, which owns several hotels in Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

A spokesman of the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre said it received an emergency call at 12.35pm.

The buyer is Hemat Tuah Sdn Bhd, which currently owns the other 55% stake in the company, Tropicana Ivory Sdn Bhd (TISB).

Ooi holds a 17.38% stake in Heng Huat through Skylitech Resources Sdn Bhd. He is the second largest shareholder of the company.
