8 Conlay developer appealing GDB’s recovery of RM103 mil in unpaid sums

KUALA LUMPUR (March 13): GDB Holdings Bhd (KL:GDB) said the developer of the 8 Conlay project is appealing a court decision ordering the company to pay GDB's unit RM102.
KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 13): GDB Holdings Bhd (KL:GDB) said its wholly-owned subsidiary Grand Dynamic Builders Sdn Bhd has obtained a favourable High Court judgment against KSK Land Sdn Bhd, which is in liquidation, to recover amounts owed for works on the 8 Conlay project.
The adjudication decision was secured earlier in February this year and comprised RM76.
“As a result of the above decision, the adjudication decision has been enforced by virtue of Section 28 of the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 as if it is a judgement or order of the High Court.
The sum comprises RM76.
This was, however, just a little over half of the RM102.
This was after the court granted the pair (DCSB and KSK Land) and their parent KSK Group Bhd, another restraining order against their creditors.
“The much-considered decision to appoint CCSB as 8 Conlay’s new main contractor was made looking towards the future, and at our commitment to complete the project in the shortest time possible without compromising on quality,” said Joanne Kua, CEO of KSK Group and managing director of KSK Land.
Judicial Commissioner Liza Chan Sow Keng granted the inter-partes (both parties) interim injunction.
