The anti-graft agency said in a statement on Friday that the notices—issued on July 10—are “for the purpose of tracing and verifying asset ownership”.

With the seizure, all transactions involving the transfer of ownership of the property are now prohibited, the MACC said.
According to an MACC source, the suspects were being investigated for irregularities in construction and mining projects valued at about RM80 million.
The group also assured that it will continue business as usual and has appointed group chief financial officer Kamarul Azman Kamarozaman @ Amir as the officer in charge during Hazurin's suspension.
In a statement to the media, lawyer Lai Chee Hoe said MACC’s claim that he was being investigated for embezzlement and abuse of power for his purported role as the former chairman of a joint management committee (JMC) of a property was never mentioned to him when he was detained.
