KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 28): The spiking number of Covid-19 cases recently has bogged down current medical system, thus those tested positive for Covid-19 but are asymptomatic are advised to be isolated at home while waiting for the health offices to arrange for transportation to hospitals, reported Malay Mail.
Quoting Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, the report said the Ministry of Health (MOH) is facing difficulties in logistic arrangement to ferry patients to hospital due to the rising number of the Covid-19 positive cases.
In Sabah, MOH is dealing with over 1,000 cases a day, as the foreign workers testing continues, it’s expected there will be more cases being diagnosed..
“Foreign workers have no place to be isolated in... we have thousands here. We are increasing the number of beds to 10,000,” he told Malay Mail.
This is in response to a complaint by a business owner who questioned the MOH updates as her employees who were tested positive were not being taken to government hospitals.
