Ipoh: Pay your assessment tax on time and win in council’s lucky draw

IPOH (April 14): It pays to pay your assessment tax in this city. An Ipoh City Council (MBI) worker is now RM20,000 richer after she won in the council’s lucky draw for ratepayers who paid their assessment on time, The Star reported today.

“I paid about RM350 for my assessment tax and I could not believe that I won the grand prize.

“I plan to share the money with my family and friends,” Dahlia Ramli, 36 told the daily after receiving the prize at MBI.

She explained that it had been become easier to pay assessment taxes since online and cashless payment options were introduced by MBI.

“Having extra cash will help me and my family with our upcoming expenses,” added Dahlia.

Ipoh mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin announced in October last year that the city’s ratepayers could pay their assessment taxes through the PBTPay website.

MBI offered prizes worth about RM76,000, including 200 consolation prizes, for the draw, reported the daily.

“The winners for this year’s lucky draw are good paymasters to the city council,” said Rumaizi.
