KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 2): Tropicana Corp Bhd (KL:TROP) said it has redesignated its group managing director, Din Tan Yong Chia, as deputy group CEO, effective Thursday.
Din Tan, 32, is the son of Tropicana's group executive vice chairman and major shareholder Tan Sri Danny Tan Chee Sing. He assumed the managing director post in March 2024 after serving as group executive director since July 2023, according to the property developer's filing with Bursa Malaysia.
His brother, Dion Tan Yong Chien, and brother-in-law, Jared Ang Tzer Shen, also serve on Tropicana’s board as non-independent non-executive directors.
In May, Tropicana had also redesignated its group CEO, Datuk Mark Victor Rozario, as a non-independent non-executive director.
For the second quarter ended June 30, 2025, Tropicana’s net profit fell 97.14% to RM1.25 million from RM43.57 million a year earlier, mainly due to lower recurring income following the disposal of several investment properties. Revenue fell 14.17% to RM330.18 million from RM384.7 million.
Shares of Tropicana closed two sen or 1.69% higher at RM1.20 on Thursday, valuing the property developer at RM3.02 billion.
