KUALA LUMPUR: Bina Puri Holdings Bhd has secured two new projects worth about RM14.73 million through its units Bina Puri Construction Sdn Bhd (BPCSB) and Bina Puri Saudi Co Ltd (BPSCL).

In a statement on Monday, Oct 11, Bina Puri said BPCSB had secured a piling test project from Sabah Medical Centre at the site of a new hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah for a sum of RM9 million.

The project was expected to be completed in the next five months, it said.

Meanwhile, BPSCL — which was incorporated in Saudi Arabia — secured the Stormwater pipeline project from the Quarayat City Council, Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs of Saudi Arabia for an amount of SAR6.96 million (approximately RM5.73 million).

The company said the project was due for completion in over twenty months.

Bina Puri group managing director Senator Tan Sri Tee Hock Seng said the projects reflected the company's position as a capable and reliable construction company within the industry.

"Significantly, the Stormwater pipeline project marks our first foray into the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

"We hope that this will strengthen our market presence in that region, paving the way for more projects."

Bina Puri said it had so far secured projects worth RM1.64 billion in 2010, which were largely expected to contribute positively to its financial years ending Dec 31, 2010 and 2011.
