KUALA LUMPUR: Mutiara Goodyear Development Bhd has bagged two local awards in the recent Asia Pacific Property Awards 2011 held in Shanghai, it announced on Tuesday, May 31.

The group's Nadayu Melawati residential development — comprising 142 units of bungalows, semi-detached homes and superlinked units over 80 acres of freehold land with a gross development value of RM1 billion — won a Five-Star Award for Best Development (Multiple Residences Units) for Malaysia and a Highly Commended Award for Best Property (Single Unit) for Malaysia.

"We are delighted to receive these coveted awards that are internationally recognised. I understand that this year, a record number of 21 different countries participated in the prestigious competition and I am deeply honoured in having the opportunity to compete with these choice real estate developers from the Asia Pacific Region," said executive chairman Hamidon Abdullah in a statement.

"It is a testimony of the outstanding quality and global recognition of the properties developed by us. All of us at Mutiara are encouraged by this recognition and we will continue to pursue excellence in all aspect in our business," he added.

The Asia Pacific Property Awards, held in association with Bloomberg Television, aims to recognise the best real estate professionals across the globe.
