PETALING JAYA: Seri Kembangan has been regarded as an under-developed area in the past. In recent years however, it is emerging as a property hot spot, according to some property consultants. Together with nearby Puchong and Cyberjaya, the area is rapidly evolving into what is touted to be a new Golden Triangle in the Southern Corridor of the Klang Valley.
The potential of Seri Kembangan was spotted and acknowledged years ago by some developers, which proceeded to build high-profile projects like the award-winnning Gita Bayu residential enclave and Country Heights’ Mines Resort City.
Managing director of PA International Property Consultants (KL) Jerome Hong tells City & Country that the older and more established parts of Seri Kembangan along the North-South Expressway feature landmarks such as Universiti Putra Malaysia, Taman Sri Serdang, South City Plaza and The Mines while the southwestern side of Seri Kembangan offers newer developments such as Equine Park.
This newer area, he adds, seems to be “inching closer” to Puchong and together with Cyberjaya, is forming what is dubbed the Golden Triangle of the Southern Corridor of the Klang Valley.
Meanwhile, iProp Realty Sdn Bhd managing director Victor Lim says development land is getting scarce and expensive in the city. Developers, therefore, have started looking for land on the fringe of the city and Seri Kembangan fits the bill.
“Real estate in Seri Kembangan is cheaper compared with Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur while the buying power of its largely Chinese population is strong,” he adds.
Commercial development is a strong catalyst in the growth of any area and it is no different in Seri Kembangan.
