KUALA LUMPUR: Sunrise Bhd will be launching at least two projects in the Klang Valley in its financial year ending June 30, 2010 (FY2010) after a quiet FY2009.

The developer, known for its luxury high-rise condominium developments in Mont’Kiara, will launch 28 Mont’Kiara or MK28 in December. Located along Jalan Kiara, MK 28 comprises 460 units with built-ups ranging from 2,000 sq ft to 3,000 sq ft. The project will be completed within three years, said Sunrise executive chairman Tong Kooi Ong at a press conference after the company’s AGM on Oct 29.

Next up for launch is an office development on Jalan Sultan Ismail, pending approval by the local authorities. The two-tower development, both 30-storeys high, is expected to be launched early next year and completed in four years. With a total net saleable area of 550,000 sq ft, it will be sold with strata titles.

The developer is also looking at the possibility of launching a mixed development, predominantly residential, in Vancouver, Canada by the middle of next year.

As for the Wisma Angkasa Raya site opposite the Petronas Twin Towers in the KLCC area, Tong said planning is still in the preliminary stages. “We have completed a market study to decide on a suitable development for the site and are in the process of selecting the architect for the project from among five renowned international architectural firms.”

With unbilled sales of RM860 million, Sunrise will complete its two ongoing projects – MK10 and MK11 by next month and 2011, respectively.
