Indonesia has informed Wisma Putra that its soldiers were wrong, and acknowledges Malaysia’s protest note on the matter, which involves two Tentera Nasional Indonesia (TNI) personnel on Malaysian territory.

Pantai Remis Fire and Rescue Station chief Mohd Amir Hamid said police notified the station of the incident at 11.47am yesterday.

The national disaster agency said casualty figures were set to rise as it issued the fresh death toll — up from a previous 222 — and said more than 50 people were still missing.

Malaysia has sent a protest note to Jakarta condemning the mistreatment and detention of its citizens by the Indonesian security forces.

Dozens of buildings were destroyed by the wave, which hit beaches without warning in South Sumatra and the western tip of Java about 9.30 pm local time (1430 GMT) on Saturday, national disaster agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said in a statement.

The serviced apartment project on a 2.36-acre freehold site in Cheras Batu 11 (11th Mile) will be connected to the Batu 11 Cheras MRT (mass rapid transit) Station via a 15m link bridge, which is said to be the shortest connecting bridge along the MRT line.
