Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, in a statement on Monday, said the undersea tunnel project was part of the three major roads and undersea tunnel projects in Penang.

“This is an example of how a green lung can be at risk if it is not gazetted as a green lung in the first place in the Kuala Lumpur City Plan 2020. We have made so many objections previously and called for the Federal Territories Minister to gazette Federal Hill as a green lung, and this is precisely what we were trying to prevent,” said SKL chairman Datuk M. Ali.

Sarawak logged the highest number of infections on Monday with 2,723, followed by Johor (1,226), Kelantan (983) and Selangor (979).

The ‘transformational’ 12MP also set a gross national income (GNI) target of RM57,882 or US$14,842 by end-2025.

"Sarawak could be the first state to start with the booster dose programme as it was the earliest in completing the vaccination exercise."

In terms of the country's adult population, 83.1% had been fully vaccinated while 93.7% had received at least the first jab.

There were no deaths reported in Perlis, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan and Labuan.

Sarawak maintained its top spot with 2,943 new cases, followed by Selangor with 1,558 cases, Johor (1,455), Kelantan (1,206), and Sabah (1,078).
