The republic's Expert Committee on COVID-19 Vaccination in a statement issued late Friday said most cases of "myocarditis and pericarditis" were reported to have occurred within a few days after receiving the second dose of the vaccine.  “However all have recovered or have been discharged well from hospital," it said.

“While it is necessary to extend the MCO 3.0 lockdown for another two weeks, the government must also ensure effective measures are in place to support affected employers, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and micro enterprises,” MEF president Datuk Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman said.

Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali said so far, the vaccines were for those eligible under the second phase of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, namely senior citizens, aged 60 and above, vulnerable groups with morbidity problems and persons with disabilities
