KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Bhd has appointed Sarena Cheah, daughter of group founder and chairman Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah, one of the joint managing directors for the group’s Malaysian and Singaporean property development team.

Penang Sentral project to start this year, says NCIA

BUKIT MERTAJAM: The long-awaited Penang Sentral project is likely to start in the fourth quarter of this year, says the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA).

MBSB aims to increase 20pct total deposit by year-end

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Building Society Bhd (MBSB) aims to increase by 20 per cent its total deposit by year-end from RM21.5 billion last year.

Chief Executive Officer Datuk Ahmad Zaini Othman said the company's liability programme would be strengthened with marked improvements in deposit level with total deposit from corporate and retail clients.

CPN shifts focus to Asean

BANGKOK: Central Pattana Plc (CPN), a retail developer listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, has decided to proceed with two or three foreign projects that were previously on the waiting list over concerns it may lose opportunities arising from Asean economic integration.

The top three countries CPN is looking to invest in are Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam.
