According to Bernama, the driver of the car which was impacted by the steel structure escaped unharmed.

Group managing director Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy said the collaboration reflects NCT Group’s efforts to strengthen the park’s operational backbone and support investor scalability.

"These facilities provide manufacturers with scalable computing capacity for digital twins, real-time analytics and cloud-based manufacturing execution systems.

“However, the implementation of the traffic management plan (TMP) during the festive seasons will be arranged in a way that does not disrupt the traffic flow or compromise the safety of road users, especially with the expected increase in vehicles,” said Penang State Infrastructure, Transport and Digital Committee chairman Zairil Khir Johari.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the state government had received a presentation from the companies involved in the project at the State Executive Council meeting to review the issues raised and the steps needed to address them.

Earlier this week, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the MACC is free to investigate the aerotrain project based on existing law and with sufficient evidence.

Despite the four disruptions in its four months of operations, chief airports officer Bryan John Thompson said the aerotrain’s operational service availability performance has been above 98%, save for its dip to 95.

The development comes amid increasing calls for data centres to diversify their water sources through alternatives such as reclaimed water, rainwater harvesting and recycled effluent, as Malaysia has faced an influx of water-intensive data centre projects over the last three years.

The Ministry of Finance said the investment covers infrastructure development and strategic tourism assets, including internationally rated hotels.

Privasia said the project will now be spearheaded by its subsidiary, Silver Streams Technofarm Sdn Bhd.
