In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday, the auditors said the company was unable to provide fundamental accounting records and supporting documentation necessary for their audit procedures.
As a Practice Note 17 (PN17) company, Meridian must submit its annual report for the financial year ended May 31, 2025 by Oct 7 or face suspension the following day until further notice.
The property developer became a PN17 company in April 2024, after its external auditor Jamal, Amin & Partners expressed a disclaimer of opinion in its audited financial statements for the period ended Sept 30, 2023.
The contract, which is about eight times its market capitalisation of about RM5 million—based on its Friday closing share price of 2.
The auditor said the disclaimer of opinion was issued as the firm had not been able to obtain sufficient appropriate audit evidence in respect of the estimates and assumptions made in the cash flow projections prepared by Meridian's management, assuming the group will continue as a going concern.
