Najib's suit against Pua stays withdrawn but latter entitled to damages

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 15): Damansara Member of Parliament Tony Pua had today managed to set aside the injunction imposed on him by Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak in a suit filed by the former prime minister against Pua in relation to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) and the proposed amendment to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 by PAS.

Shafee accuses Shahrol of being in cahoots with Jho Low

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 15): Lead defense counsel Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah has alleged former 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) chief executive officer Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi had conspired with alleged “puppetmaster” Low Taek Jho to obstruct an audit by the National Audit Department (NAD) into the state-owned fund in 2010.

Apex court to decide tomorrow if Sri Ram, govt can appeal against leave to challenge 1MDB-Tanore lead prosecutor appointment

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 14): The Federal Court in Putrajaya is expected to decide tomorrow whether appointed senior Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram (pictured), the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) and the government can appeal against the appellate court's decision that granted leave to Datuk Seri Najib Razak and lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah to challenge the appointment of Sri Ram as a prosecutor in the case.
