PENANG (May 22): S P Setia Foundation, in collaboration with Amari SPICE Penang, shared the joy of Hari Raya Aidilfitri with 52 children from orphanages Persatuan Anak Yatim Balik Pulau and Wisma Yatim Pulau Pinang (Perempuan) at their ‘Riang Ria Aidilfitri’ Raya open house last week. The event was held at the Amaya Food Gallery in Amari SPICE Penang.

“It is important for us to remember those who need a helping hand, especially during the  festive seasons, to provide the assistance we can and give back to the underservedcommunities.

“Our aim is to continue engaging with them and help ease their burdens to our ability,” said S P Setia Foundation management committee and head, group branding & communications Adelene Wong.

According to a media release by S P Setia Foundation, “this open house event is held in line with its second Trust Object, with the aim to provide assistance in meeting the needs of those Malaysians who are underprivileged, disabled, poverty-stricken or critically ill”.

It added that the event “meets the United Nation’s Sustainability Development Goals, which are Goal 1 (No Poverty) with the aim to end poverty in all its forms everywhere, and Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) which is about creating a world free of hunger by 2030”.

“We are a vibrant brand that celebrates moments of joy through hotel experiences. This Hari Raya we share our love to brighten the world of the underprivileged and less fortunate to put a smile on their faces to celebrate the occasion,” said Noorazzudin Omar, general manager of Amari SPICE Penang.

In conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, zakat fund in the form of Hari Raya packets gifted to the children of the orphanages, were provided by Perumahan Kinrara Bhd, a subsidiary of S P Setia.

“We are glad for the opportunity to contribute to this charitable cause during this season of giving, and it is always a rewarding experience to be able to put a smile on the faces of the children,” said Datuk Yuslina Mohd Yunus who represented Perumahan Kinrara Bhd and is the management committee of S P Setia Foundation and executive vice president of S P Setia.
