HULU TERENGGANU: Four workers, a Malaysian and three Bangladeshis, were hurt when a glass sheet being installed on the roof of Kuala Berang new bus terminal fell.

It was understood that 15 workers were busy working on the roof at 3.05pm today Dec 21, 2009 when the incident occured. The four workers, two on the roof and two below were hurt in the hands and legs.

Construction site supervisor Zahir Hariri said he was in the office when he heard a loud noise coming from the bus terminal's direction. "I rushed out and saw that the glass sheet used as a reflector on the roof had fallen hurting four workers," he told reporters at the site.

The four workers hurt were rushed to Hulu Terengganu Hospital and given out-patient treatment.

He said work on the roof began one week ago and was 80 percent completed adding that the incident probable occured due to poor workmanship.

The RM4.2 million bus terminal built in March 2008 was due for completion early next year. It is a project of Hulu Terengganu District Council.-- Bernama
