KUALA LUMPUR (June 10): GuocoLand (Malaysia) Bhd held a “topping out” ceremony for its RM2.5 billion Damansara City project in Damansara Heights today.
The development’s final building is a 5-star hotel.
“This completion of construction phase is an important milestone not just for Damansara City but [because it is] a Key Entry Point Project identified under the Economic Transformation Programme in early 2011,” said managing director Tan Lee Koon.
Negotiations are being finalised for the 312-room hotel to be run by a five-star hotel group from the UK.
"We expect the hotel to be fully operational by next year," said Tan.
Damansara City sits on 8.5 acres of freehold land, and consists of two Grade-A office towers of 19 and 30-storeys, two towers of 28-storey serviced apartments, a 4-storey retail mall and the 23-storey hotel.
Tan said the residential component of the development, DC Residency, is near completion and residents are expected to move in by year-end.
DC Residency comprises 370 partly furnished luxury apartments with a built-up area of between 899 sq ft and 2,705 sq ft. Selling prices start at RM1.3 million or RM1,500 psf.
DC Residency's Tower A has been 50% taken up. It will be officially launched on July 3.
Tan said Tower B will be put on sale once Tower A is fully sold.
Damansara City is an MSC-status development that is compliant with the Green Building Index rating, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold rating and CONQUAS Quality Assessment for building construction works.
