The CGI pointed to warnings from former Bank of England governor Mark Carney and others that the climate crisis poses the "single greatest threat to global financial stability".
“As voters, we are utterly disgusted by such political machinations by both the government and opposition MPs who defy democratic norms of responsible party politics,” said the groups, led by Bersih 2.0, the coalition for clean and fair elections.
“We would hope that they pay more attention to addressing the economy, tackling unemployment and other pressing issues instead of fighting among themselves.”
Tourist arrivals have been steadily increasing since 2007, but the island does not have adequate infrastructure and facilities to support this visitor load, the group said in a statement.
