KL Tower to reopen tomorrow after restoration works

KLCC 2 Residence will comprise 924 serviced apartment units, five retail spaces, a three-storey facility podium, mechanical floors, and a car park block.
Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd is now planning to take legal action (committal proceedings) against the Ministry of Communications and the Federal Lands Commissioner, accusing them of a forcible takeover of the tower when it temporarily closed the KL Tower early on Thursday morning.
In a statement, the ministry also said that the building will be temporarily closed starting Thursday “in the interest of visitor safety and comfort, and to provide space for the new management to carry out maintenance and improvement works”.
They stressed that the High Court's dismissal on Tuesday is not final, as the matter is still pending the hearing of an interim injunction scheduled for June 9.
In their suit filed on March 27, Hydroshoppe and Menara KL claim that LSH Capital and its units had induced a breach of a contract that the plaintiffs had agreed to with the government in an Aug 1, 2022 meeting.
Hydroshoppe and MKLSB initiated legal action including against LSHSM and the government, as they alleged contractual breaches and misconduct that led to the award of the concession to LSH Service Master.
“As a result of the blacklisting, these developers will be ineligible to apply for new licences until they have settled their outstanding fines.
Last month, LSH and the Federal Lands Commissioner formalised a 20-year concession and lease agreement until end-March 2045, to manage, operate and maintain the tower.
