Mutiara Damansara的中文名是珍珠白沙罗，意思是Petaling Jaya北部的闪亮明珠。当地也因IKEA及The Curve购物中心而成为热门购物和休闲据点。 该区发展分为两个部分，分别为面积达300英亩的住宅区及60英亩的商业区。 其中，商区发展分为零售（60%）和办公大楼（40%），零售项目包括The Curve购物中心、Tesco Extra、eCurve以及IPC购物中心，当然还有大马第一间IKEA购物中心。 Mutiara Damansara发展商Boustead Holdings Bhd房地产发展部董事Datuk Sri Ghazali Mohd Ali表示，当地原为军营，土地属于Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT)。 Ghazali指出，由于该区毗邻另一房产热点Bandar Utama以及Kota Damansara，因此在筹划阶段时，公司多方考量，希望打造一个独具特色的城镇，避免与临近城镇直接竞争。 “我们将焦点放在打造一个规划完善、低稠密度的城镇，且清楚划分商区与住宅区，塑造一个闹中带静的环境，”他说。 他表示，在选择购物中心方面，公司倾向于较为家庭式且适合小朋友的购物商场。 除了IKEA，乐高（Lego）也是商区内另一个受欢迎的据点，另外，大马唯一的家庭娱乐中心Kidzania也在Mutiara Damansara落脚，成为这里的特色之一。 Mutiara Damansara商区的另一特色，是区内所有购物中心都紧密连接，因此，访客只需把车子停在其中一个停车场，即可步行到不同的商区购物或是办公。 逐渐成形的Sungai Buloh – Kajang捷运（MRT）路线，也将成为Mutiara Damansara房产发展的另一催化剂，因为捷运路线的其中一站——Station The Curve就坐落在Surian Tower前面。 种种利好带动下，该区的住宅房地产价格节节攀升，LaurelCap Sdn Bhd董事经理Stanley Toh表示，该区的双层排屋售价介于RM130万至140万，相较2000年初推介价RM35万，平均每年飙涨18%。 在Mutiara Damansara，永久地契住宅包括600间双层排屋、350间独立式以及半独立式洋房、700间高档公寓，以及约700间中低价位公寓。 TheEdgeProperty.
