The 14th International Conference on World Class Sustainable Cities (WCSC) 2023 looks at how the world endeavours to reconcile urbanisation with sustainability objectives.
The full-day conference addressed critical aspects that contribute to an enhanced quality of life, including social inclusiveness, providing equal opportunities and access to resources for all residents, solutions and policies to make housing more accessible to diverse socioeconomic groups and strategies to improve public transportation systems and reduce congestion.
The initiative saw six teams presenting their innovative ideas for the revitalisation of two zones surrounding Merdeka 118 to be more resilient.
Winning team will showcase their ideas at the International World Class Sustainable Cities (WCSC) Conference this month.
The city, along with other major urban centres, must establish and implement a comprehensive urban resilience strategy to address the impacts of various hazards, including those linked to climate change.
