“我每天醒来都可以预想到今天怎样过，而且没有一丝期待和满足感。我问我自己，这样有什么意义？所以我决定接受挑战，辞掉土木工程师一职，尝试新的事物。” 而Propstar Realty 房产经纪Kevin Teh回忆时道的“新事物”，就是目前的职业——房产销售。 生于马六甲，并在吉隆坡成长，Teh是英国大学学士和纽西兰大学硕士毕业的土木工程师。硕士毕业后，他留在纽西兰奥克兰成为了一名土木工程师。 他说：“我在纽西兰一间大型顾问公司担任工程师达5年。后来遇上了薪金和发展前景上的瓶颈，所以决定收拾行李，回来家乡寻找新的机会。” 在2010年时，他加入了马来西亚一家公司成为驻工地的工程师，但这个工作却没有满足他。 “那是一份死板的工作。我并没有看到自己成长。我心中一直想要尝试销售的工作，所以我去探索三个关于销售的工作——保险、产业和信托基金。我报名三项销售工作的资格考试和课程，最终我决定专注在信托基金和产业领域。” 在2012年6月，他正式成为Reapfield Malaysia的全职房产经纪。4年半后他加入Propstar Realty，一间专注于Mont’Kiara产业的小型公司。 “选择加入Reapfield是一个明智的决定，因为这是一间发展完善且系统化的公司。你可以获得很专业的培训。就算后来我决定离开，我和旧同事和上司仍维持联络，关系没有受影响。” 如今，他是Mont‘Kiara和Dutamas产业的专业经纪。他带领的团队也逐渐将市场拓展到Bangsar区。 “在房地产尖峰期加入这个领域。当时，任何一个新人都可以轻易地达成交易。我的第一单交易是位于Damansara Jaya的房屋。第二位上门看房子的顾客在一天之后就决定买下房子。当时，我才加入这个领域不到3个星期。” 他形容在加入房地产领域的第一年就如蜜月期，一个月达成4单交易是常态。 “在那个时候加入房地产领域是一件好事，也是坏事，因为你会将所有好事当作理所当然。” 2013年中旬开始，Teh开始感受到市场发展放缓，许多房产经纪因为无法生存而逐渐离开这个领域。 当然，Teh 也不免受到影响:“不过，当你真的喜欢一份工作的时候，你会竭尽所能确保自己能够在这个领域生存。市道坏的时候，我就投入更多时间研究市场、扩大人际网络等等。” 如今， Teh 可以信手拈来几乎所有Mont’Kiara的发展项目，而且在目前疲弱的市场情况下，仍能不断的成交交易。 “销售工作就如经营自己的生意，你必须要投入时间、金钱和心血。如果你能够熬过市场的 低周期，房地产就会给予你回报。” 该文章已刊登于2019年2月8日的EdgeProp.
