EdgeProp Malaysia to offer special broadband packages to its users

EdgeProp Malaysia is launching a special broadband campaign. Its users will enjoy special broadband offers with monthly rebates and receive an extra RM100 Touch ’n Go e-voucher when they sign-up via its website.

The campaign, a partnership between EdgeProp Malaysia and KTIC Group, will run from today until April 30, 2022. Users must apply by April 30, 2022 to be eligible to enjoy the promo. After signing up, an authorised agent will contact the user via email to register.

Choosing the right ISP from the get-go

Whether you are working from your office or in the comfort of your own home, having a good internet connection is essential to ensuring that your day-to-day tasks can run smoothly. With virtual meetings becoming the norm these days, good internet service is no longer a want; it is now a must-have.

With this, getting the best internet plan requires some research. For instance, you would want to avoid choosing an internet service provider (ISP) that has a weak connection, or worse, one that’s not even available in your area.

Before you choose the right internet provider, here are two steps to consider:

Step 1: Know the difference in broadband available

There are two types of broadband: fibre broadband and wireless broadband.

The difference between fibre and wireless lies in the type of materials used on the cable. For fibre broadband, fibre optic glass is the material used to transmit the data information while wireless broadband uses a copper cable, which is more common.

However, fibre broadband is gaining traction as its efficiency is proven better than wireless broadband as it can transmit and process information faster.

Simply put, you will probably be able to stream videos at high-quality resolution with ease.

Step 2: Which ISP to choose?

Every ISP has its packages to cater to your needs. However, there are a few things you have to note before choosing your internet packages:

Availability

The hassle of changing your ISP can be daunting. Therefore it will be beneficial to think carefully before deciding on which ISP best suits your needs.

One of the tricks is to observe whether there are any telecommunications towers nearby your area. You may do a quick search on the internet to find out which ISP belongs to the telco tower closest to you; chances are, that particular ISP telco tower will give you a much more stable internet connection.

Speed

Speed is everything when it comes to having a smooth internet-surfing experience, from searching for information, streaming videos, or having virtual calls.

Depending on your usage habits, 50 Mbps to 100Mbps with two to three people using the internet simultaneously will still be able to support internet activities such as streaming 4k videos, gaming, work-from-home related, and home security devices.

However, if more than four people share the internet, then it is best to look for packages with higher Mbps to ensure no interference.

Terms & Conditions

1. The campaign period is effective from March 14, 2022 till April 30, 2022.

2. Users are deemed eligible for the campaign promo upon the receipt of complete applications within the campaign period. For example, if you apply within campaign period but complete the installation the following month, you are still eligible.

3. This campaign is only applicable for new installation.

4.This campaign is applicable to all fibre packages, expect for Celcom Home Fibre 30mbps.

5.This campaign is only applicable via sign-ups from EdgeProp.my.

6. All campaigns are tied to a 24-month contract.

7. Internet plan is subject to the infra readiness and port availability.

8. Touch ’n Go Vouchers will be credited into success activation account within 30 days upon ISP activation date. The company shall not entertain any request from customer to exchange to cash term.

9. Customers are not allowed to modify their packages (upgrade/downgrade and change) within the first six months.

10. The company reserves the right to change, suspend or discontinue temporarily or permanently, some or all of the promotion with respect to any or all users, at any time without notice.

11. Customers will be charged a subscription fee on the remaining contract months or RM 500 from the ISP should any Termination/cancellation of the plan take place within the commitment period (under the 24-month contract).

12. Except for the specific terms and conditions for the Campaign (if you’re going to capitalise Campaign here, I suggest you do it for all under the terms and conditions) stated herein, all other terms and conditions for each ISP Fibre Broadband and General Campaign terms and conditions shall continue to apply.

13. Campaign organiser reserves the right in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend the Contest
