CGS aims to drive growth in Johor-Singapore SEZ with RM6b investment facilitation target

KUALA LUMPUR (May 20): CGS International Securities Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CGS MY) is targeting to facilitate a total of RM3 billion in foreign direct investment in the region and RM3 billion in assets under management in the establishment of single-family office ventures.

Chief executive officer Azizah Mohd Yatim (pictured) said CGS MY looks forward to deepening collaboration with the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) stakeholders to facilitate greater business and economic growth.

Looking ahead, Azizah said CGS MY is committed to facilitating more high-impact investment flows into the JS-SEZ.

“By bridging capital with opportunities, the regional financial services provider continues to play a catalytic role in shaping Southeast Asia’s next frontier for sustainable, cross-border economic progress,” she said in a statement.

She said that as Asia’s global investment house, CGS MY is working closely with companies seeking to capitalise on the JS-SEZ’s incentives, regulatory clarity and cross-border connectivity.

She said by leveraging its deep expertise and leadership in capital markets, regional market entry strategies and investment banking services, it supports businesses in exploring capital access, market expansion and strategic partnership to establish and scale their presence within the JS-SEZ.

On Monday, six financial institutions signed letters of intent with the Ministry of Economy, advancing financial facilitation to support the JS-SEZ.

The six are Malayan Banking Bhd (KL:MAYBANK), CIMB Group Holdings Bhd (KL:CIMB), Bank of America, HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and CGS International Securities.
