KUALA LUMPUR: The International Real Estate Federation’s Malaysian chapter (Fiabci Malaysia) has named Hunza Properties Bhd’s founder Datuk Seri Khor Teng Tong as Property Man 2014 while I & P Group Sdn Bhd’s group managing director Datuk Jamaludin Osman was awarded the title of Property CEO 2014 at the 22nd Malaysia Property Awards presentation ceremony here tonight.
Meanwhile, eleven projects took home awards in the hotel, master plan, office project, resort, retail, sustainable development, residential (high rise) and residential (low rise) categories.
“In general, the participating projects had a very high quality and having tight competition among each other that made the scoring difficult for this year. However, we are glad to see that the developers are improving over the years and are keen to vie for the award, which in turn proves that this award is prestigious and of high standard,” said Fiabci Malaysia president Tengku Datuk Ab Aziz Tengku Mahmud.
Among the award winners are Aloft Hotel Kuala Lumpur Sentral by Iringan Flora Sdn Bhd in the hotel category, The Light Waterfront Penang by IJM Land Bhd in the master plan category, and Menara OBYU (Point 92) by Tujuan Gemilang Sdn Bhd in the office project category.
Additionally, other winners include the Lost World of Tambun by Sunway Lost World Waterpark Sdn Bhd in the resort category, Publika by UEM Sunrise Bhd in the retail category and Ken Rimba Legian Residence by Ken Holdings Bhd in the sustainable development category.
Meanwhile, the winners of the residential (high rise) categories are 28 Mont’ Kiara by UEM Sunrise Bhd, Rhombus by Beneton Properties Sdn Bhd and VERVE Suites by Bukit Kiara Properties Sdn Bhd, while the winners of the residential (low rise) category are Casaman Parkhomes by Perdana ParkCity Sdn Bhd and Sunway Rymba Hills by Sunway PKNS Sdn Bhd.
The awards’ organizing chairman Yu Kee Su lauded the rising quality of projects entering the competition.
“The competition was tight this year, all the participating projects were excellent!” he said.
The 11 winning projects will represent Malaysia at the international Fiabci Prix d’Excellence award, which will be held here in May 2015.
