SHAH ALAM: The RM750 million Kemuning-Shah Alam Highway (LKSA) would be a smoother alternative access to both new and existing developments in Shah Alam via six interchanges.

The six interchanges are Kota Kemuning, Jalan Bukit Kemuning, Bulatan Jubli Perak, Alam Impian, Bulatan Selangor and Federal Highway Route 2. There are two toll plazas on LKSA -- Alam Impian and Seri Muda. The toll rates will be announced by the government soon.

Prolintas, through its wholly owned subsidiary Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd, will open the 14.7km LKSA on May 18.

"Currently, it takes about 30 to 45 minutes to travel from Kota Kemuning to the Selangor State Mosque, for example. With LKSA, it may take only 10 minutes," Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings group CEO Zainudin A Kadir told reporters during a media briefing on Thursday, May 6.

The highway concession period is 40 years beginning on Aug 1, 2007. There will be a carnival for the public on May 15 in conjunction with the launch of the highway. Prolintas is wholly-owned by Permodalan Nasional Bhd.
