PETALING JAYA (April 12, 2013): The Malaysian Secondary Property Exhibition (MASPEX) will be expanding to five more cities namely Johor Baru, Penang, Ipoh, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching by next year, said Organising Chairman and Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) Vice-President Erick Y.T. Kho.

"Within the next five to six years, the number of exhibitors will be five times more," he told reporters at the inaugural MASPEX 2013 launch here today.

The three-day event is a new platform provided by MIEA to further serve the membership better through consolidating under one roof 32 real estate agencies to offer their services and listings to the public, Kho said.

"These 32 real estate agencies who are MIEA members are industry leading players that command more than RM2.5 billion sale transactions annually," he said.

Kho said among the MASPEX 2013 highlights are educational talks on property investments, loan package offer by Maybank, free valuation estimates and free legal advisory.

"MASPEX 2013 will offer '300 Hot Deals - Investment Opportunities in Matured Locations' by participating real estate agencies and a souvenir programme handbook priced at RM3 each featuring the top 16 secondary market properties by each real estate agency.

"Secondary market properties on average do command a discount of more than 30 per cent when compared to developers' newly launched units in recent years," Kho added.

MASPEX 2013 is held at Tropicana City Mall on April 12-14. -- Bernama
