BANGKOK: Thailand-based Minor Hotel Group Ltd (MHG) has announced a collaboration with Dubai Properties Group (DP) to develop a new Anantara hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Named Anantara Dubai Creek Hotel, it is scheduled to open in early 2018.

“With a well-established and well-known portfolio of hotels and resorts in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, further growing our footprint in the United Arab Emirates is of key strategic importance to Minor Hotel Group. We look forward to a strong alliance [with Dubai Properties] going forward,” said MHG chief executive officer Dillip Rajakarier in a press statement recently.

Anantara Dubai Creek Hotel will be developed in Culture Village in UAE, which is about 8km from the Deira city centre. It will feature 290 guest rooms with facilities including a rooftop pool, a spa ballroom, conference facilities, and food and beverage outlets among others.

“This is part of a growing portfolio of hotels for DP which we will develop in key areas of Dubai, and we are proud to be partnering with Minor Hotel Group to bring the iconic Anantara brand to Culture Village,” DP chief officer of urban planning and infrastructure Mohammed Al Habbai said.

On Feb 10, MHG announced a collaboration with Khazanah National Bhd’s Destination Resorts and Hotels Sdn Bhd to co-develop a luxury resort and residences under the Anantara brand. The group has yet to decide on a suitable location for the development.
