SEREMBAN: Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said on Wednesday, March 2 irresponsible people were abusing the RM10 nominal annual quit rent facility for schools and houses of worship in the state.
For example, he said, some of these people built a house of worship on one acre (0.4 hectare) of the 10 acres (4 hectares) they owned and opted to pay only RM10 as quit rent.
However, their tactic had been detected and the normal quit rent was imposed on the remaining land, he told reporters after the weekly state executive council meeting.
Mohamad said the land housing the school or house of worship must be owned by the school or an association to qualify for the RM10 quit rent. — Bernama
