HONG KONG (Aug 6): One&Only Palmilla took first place in Travel+Leisure’s World’s Best Resort in Mexico and ranked among the top 20 in the publication's listing of the world's top 100 hotels as voted by its readers.

“I am so proud of the One&Only Palmilla Team. They've been through so much over the past nine months; their constant support and hard work through the build-up to the re-opening has been incredible,” said One&Only Palmilla managing director Peter Bowling in a press release yesterday.

“Receiving this recognition by Travel+Leisure is a reflection of their passion and dedication to providing the best experience for our guests year after year,” he added.

The resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, reopened on April 20 after Hurricane Odile struck the touristy locale last September.

The rejuvenated resort now offers new and top services such as SEARED – the resort’s new steakhouse that is a collaboration with Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

Meanwhile, the resort’s restaurant, Agua by Larbi, which is overseen by chef Larbi Dahrouch, has included new taste innovations alongside its classic dishes.

The resort's rooms and suites have also been refurbished, while its One&Only Spa has introduced OBO Salon with Jonathan & George, and a male grooming salon, Barber&Blade.

As icing on the cake, One&Only’s other resorts were also recognised in Travel+Leisure’s hospitality awards, such as the One&Only Ocean Club in Bahamas took sixth place in Travel+Leisure’s World’s Best Awards.

Meanwhile, its urban resort One&Only Cape Town has been listed in the top five of the World’s Best City Hotels in Africa and the Middle East.
