KUALA LUMPUR (April 5): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (pictured) said the Government would build another 5,000 affordable houses in Miri and Kuching, Sarawak, to ensure more people could own comfortable and safe residential units.

Najib wrote in najibrazak.com that that the Federal Government had via Syarikat Perumahan Negara Bhd built 3,600 affordable houses in Sarawak since 2004.

"I am aware that a comfortable, safe and affordable home is every Malaysian's dream, Sarawak is no exception," Najib said.

He said this ahead of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly dissolution this Monday (April 11) for the state election.

Najib said he believed Barisan Nasional would remain as the people's choice in the Sarawak state election based on support from locals there.-- theedgemarkets.com
