KOTA KINABALU: This year's Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association Property Expo (Shareda PropEX) will showcase about 6,520 units of property with a total value of RM2.3 billion.

This is an increase from 5,034 units of property with a combined worth of RM2.2 billion exhibited last year, Shareda president Datuk Susan Wong told a press conference here on Friday, Aug 13.

"We expect to maintain the 20% in bookings and sales from the expo which we recorded last year.

"But bear in  mind, this year there is a larger amount of units involved. We target about 1,300 units for potential bookings and sales, compared to 1,001 units last year," she said.

"Overall, with the economic recovery and property industry doing better now, we expect better response for Shareda PropEX this year," she added.

Shareda PropEX 2010, deemed as Sabah's ultimate home and property exhibition, will be held from Aug 28 to 31 at Sabah Trade Centre and officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman on the first day.

Wong said about 50 development projects would be exhibited in the expo with properties ranging from terrace, semi-detached and detached houses to apartments, condominiums, resort and hotel suites, and commercial and industrial lots.

"The price range can go from a RM150,000 apartment unit to a few million ringgit worth of bungalow house. So, the clients can take their pick here," she said.

She said there would be 84 booths including those operated by banks and financial institutions so that people interested could obtain on-the-spot information about loans.

Of the property developers, two were from Kuala Lumpur to showcase their development projects in this expo, she said. — Bernama
