KUALA LUMPUR: UOA Development Bhd becomes the first Malaysia-based property developer to be awarded the Asia-Pacific Builder’s Growth Excellence Leadership Award by Frost & Sullivan.

UOA was selected for its impressive growth by demonstrating excellence in capturing the highest compound annual growth rate for the last three years. The award was presented at the 2013 Frost & Sullivan Asia-Pacific Best Practices Awards held recently at St Regis Hotel in Singapore.

“We are honoured to be conferred this award as it underlines our commitment to growth excellence and value creation for our stakeholders. The recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and business associates, who have all contributed to our achievements,” UOA managing director Kong Chong Soon said in a statement recently.

“UOA is commendable for its approximately 50% compound annual growth rate on its revenues for the past three years. This has positioned the company above other competitors in the market as it has maintained its strong growth through consistent and well-planned development pipeline in place,” said Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific research analyst Janice Wung.

“With its 30.2% of year-on-year growth on revenue and a commendable net profit growth of more than 50% in 2012, the company outshines many other established property developers in terms of growth excellence in Asia-Pacific. In addition, UOA’s growth performance is already recognised by Forbes Asia,” she said.

The award recognises a company’s leadership position within the industry in terms of growth. UOA was presented with the award based on a thorough market evaluation conducted by Frost & Sullivan analysts following a rigorous measurement-based methodology to shortlist leading companies that demonstrate best practices in their industry.

In 2012, UOA made it to the list of Forbes Asia’s 200 Best Under A Billion, which honours 200 top performing small and medium enterprises in Asia-Pacific.

UOA was the recipient of The Edge Malaysia Notable Achievement Award (NAA) 2012. It also joined The Edge Billion Ringgit Club as a member in the same year.

This year, UOA made its debut at the number seven spot of The Edge Malaysia Top Property Developers Awards (TPDA). TPDA and NAA are part of The Edge Malaysia Property Excellence Awards. — by E Jacqui Chan
