Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail has assured that the state government does not plan to increase quit rent (land tax) over the next five years, despite targeting an increase in revenue collection every year.
Melaka Investment, Industry, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Committee chairman Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said the proposed development, which would involve the construction of a tunnel or bridge, would take 20 years and when completed would have a major impact on the economic development of both countries.
The government has not reached a stage where it would need to reintroduce the goods and services tax (GST), said Deputy Finance Minister I Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said the project would also help reduce the travelling time between the east and west coasts of the peninsula, from more than seven hours to around four hours.
Founder and managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum said in a statement Monday (April 4) that the company is set to launch M Senyum in Sepang, M Astra in Setapak, M Nova in Kepong, M Panora in Rawang, Selangor, the remaining phases for Ferringhi Residences in Penang and double-storey linked units in Meridin East, Johor Bahru.
