EcoWorld opens international gallery in Singapore

SINGAPORE (May 15): EcoWorld Development Group Bhd (EcoWorld) celebrated the opening of its international EcoWorld Gallery @ Singapore today.

Located on St Martin’s Drive, the international gallery will be the first to showcase all projects under the EcoWorld umbrella in Malaysia, London, UK, and Sydney, Australia.

“We are delighted to be able to grow the EcoWorld brand in Singapore and hope that our presence here will make it more convenient for our customers and prospective buyers who would like to know more about EcoWorld,” said chairman of Eco World Bhd Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin.

“The gallery is to also promote and showcase the value that Malaysia brings.”

The value-added services provided at the gallery include a one-stop solution centre to assist EcoWorld’s business park customers. It provides advice on applications for incentive packages, business licensing, registration and end-financing.

Liew said a significant number of Singaporean small and medium enterprises and multinational corporations are looking to establish or expand their businesses in Iskandar Malaysia.

He revealed that of RM3.2 billion in total sales last year, RM1.8 billion came from the Iskandar region, mostly from local and Singaporean buyers.

Liew said foreign buyers comprise 20% of its customers in the Iskandar region and expects sales there to remain stable this year.

The opening was officiated by the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore Datuk Husni Zai Yaazob.

“I see this venture as a step forward not only for EcoWorld but Malaysia, to improve bilateral ties with our neighbour,” said Husni.

He added that despite the cautious sentiment in the property market in Iskandar Malaysia, the region is still attracting foreign direct investment.

Since EcoWorld's first launch of EcoBotanic in Nusajaya, Iskandar Malaysia, in 2013, the developer has amassed a total of 5,245 acres of land in the Klang Valley, Penang and Iskandar Malaysia. It currently has 15 projects in Malaysia with gross development value of RM62 billion.
