The steel manufacturer said the land was acquired by Malaysian Rail Link Sdn Bhd, an agency under the Ministry of Finance Inc (MOF Inc), which has been appointed as the asset and project owner of East Coast Rail Link (ECRL).
Of the 12 leases, AME REIT has successfully renewed leases with five existing tenants, obtained one replacement tenant, and confirmed lease renewals with six existing tenants, which will be finalised by end-FY2024.
The Kapar land acquisition is in line with Sime Darby Property’s SHIFT25 strategy, which aims to transform the company from a pure play property developer into a real estate company by broadening and diversifying its income streams.
