Earns top recognition for third consecutive year ARA DAMANSARA (Jan 27): Sime Darby Property has earned the prestigious Platinum Award in the ‘Property Development’ category at the 2024 Putra Brand Awards, the third consecutive year the company year the company has clinched the title.

The MyPlace Awards, which recognises outstanding placemaking initiatives by organisations and communities in enhancing public spaces and fostering positive impacts for local communities, was judged by 30 experts and professionals in their respective fields.
Setia Bayuemas Lake Park took the Emerald Winner in Category 3: Community and Neighbourhood Park (Subcategory 2: Private sector) while South Creek Park, located in Setia EcoHill 2, Semenyih, emerged as the Diamond Winner title in Category 2: City and Town Park (Subcategory 1: Below 50 Hectares).
Other developers on the Top 10 list were: Sunway Bhd — property division (No 2), S P Setia Bhd (joint No 3), Sime Darby Property Bhd (joint No 3), UOA Development Bhd (joint No 3), IOI Properties Group Bhd (No 4), IJM Land Bhd (No 5), Eco World Development Group Bhd (No 6), UEM Sunrise Bhd (No 7), Mah Sing Group Bhd (No 8), Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd (No 9) and IGB Bhd (No 10).
ParkCity Group CEO Datuk Joseph Lau said PLANMalaysia’s recognition underscores ParkCity’s commitment to sustainability, which is very much ingrained in the group’s brand DNA.
To incentivise towns and cities to transition into Smart Cities, the Ministry of Local Government Development (KPKT) will provide a RM200,000 grant to local authorities that win the Malaysia Urban Planning Awards (MUPA) starting next year.
