KUALA LUMPUR: Hua Yang Bhd, a developer with over RM1.2 billion in completed projects and over RM1 billion worth of project launches lined up this year, has appointed Ho Wen Yan (pictured) as CEO with effect from Aug 20.

Wen Yan, 36, was previously the chief operating officer of Hua Yang.

He replaces Ho Mook Leong, who will continue to serve as director in the board.

“This transition is part of our internal leadership process. The goal is to develop a young, professional group of managers and senior management capable of steering the company towards greater success in the future.

"On behalf of the Board and senior management, we fully endorse this decision. He has our full support, and together, we will continue to fulfill the legacy of Hua Yang, that is to build affordable homes for the nation,” Mook Leong said.

Wen Yan, who joined Hua Yang in 2003, was appointed on the board of the company on June 1, 2007. He holds a Masters of Science (Construction Economics and Management) degree from University College London and received his architectural training in the United Kingdom.

The developer’s key revenue driver and flagship development is its almost 18-acre One South, a RM750 million integrated, mixed development comprising retail, serviced apartments and commercial units, located in Sungai Besi.

“I am grateful for the Board’s endorsement and their continued vote of confidence. This financial year is a breakout year for us. We have launched One South, which is our flagship project, and Senawang Link and our 1st quarter have been strong.

"We will carry on building on our achievements, which includes progressively realising our revenue target of RM500 to RM600 million in sales annually. This is essential as we embark on our journey of becoming a major national developer,” Wen Yan said.
