PETALING JAYA (Oct 18): The Mapex Property Showcase saw a total of RM40.7mil in sales as it came to a close on Sunday. Organised by Rehda Youth, a branch of the Real Estate & Housing Developers Association of Malaysia, the five-day long property exhibition was held at One Utama Shopping Centre.
The event hosted 30 developers who ran booths exhibiting properties for sale in two locations in the shopping centre. With the theme “Better Homes for a Better Tomorrow”, Mapex was geared towards upper-middle class families, and its offerings comprised entirely of residential properties.
“Our exhibition was family-skewed, which is why we picked this shopping mall,” says Rehda Youth deputy chairman and organiser Carrie Fong.
The event attracted up more than 10,000 people with the main demographic being families and young couples.
Throughout the week, a number of family-friendly activities such as children’s colouring and talent competitions, photo booths, balloon giveaways, face-painting, and interactive games as well as mask-changing performances and magic shows were held.
Alongside closing ceremony speeches from Fong and Mapex organising chairman Datuk Ng Seing Liong, the results of the lucky draw were announced, with prizes such as giftcards of up to RM1,000, and prizes for the best booths going to Nusmetro Ampang Sdn Bhd and PJ Development Holdings Bhd.
Rehda Youth donated RM20,000 each to three orphanages: the Agathian Shelter, Pusat Kanak-Kanak Trinity Selangor, and Pusat Jagaan Anbe Sivam Klang.
“I’d like to extend our congratulations to Rehda Youth for another very successful property showcase,” Datuk Ng remarked, during his speech.
The ceremony ended with the handing out of certificates of appreciation to Rehda Youth exhibition partners, including Mah Sing Group Bhd, LH Land Development Sdn Bhd, RHB Bank Sdn Bhd and more. theedgeproperty was one of the media partners for the Mapex Property Showcase.
